All of Deepika Padukone’s Smoking Looks at Cannes

Green seems to be THE colour of this season!

After that dismal performance at the Met gala, it was natural for us to go ‘Uh oh’ when we heard Deepika Padukone was headed to the Cannes Film Festival. Is she going to miss this chance too? Will we see her draping a long black lifeless dress and an equally lacklustre hair? These were some of the questions that popped up in our head. Well, nothing about her Cannes appearance was lacklustre. From photo calls and beach appearance, to the actual red carpet, Deepika Padukone nailed each and every look. The highlight though was her dramatic eye makeup using aqua greens and blues.

Here are the looks Deeps sported throughout her Cannes trip.

Chilling on the beach as the dancing emoji girl

Ever wondered which emoji you’d like to dress as, if you got a chance to pick one? I’m sure, most of us would want to be that dancing lady in red. Deepika Padukone made her fantasy come true in a red Johanna Ortiz gown for L’Oreal Paris’s press meet. Deepika’s stylist Elizabeth Saltzman really did a good job.

Goes short for the Photo Call in the evening

After a fun afternoon at the beach, Deepika headed to a photo call in a silver short dress by Galvan London, Louboutin shoes with jewellery by Messika. She looked stunning in a topknot and her never-ending legs.

Sun-kissed Deepika arrives at the red carpet of Day One

She wore a jewel-toned maroon creation by Marchesa Notte and channelled her inner Kendall Jenner. Just go and have look at Kendall’s Met Gala appearance and you’ll know what we are talking about. Before that, let’s appreciate how Deepika managed plum lips, smoky eyes, and sun-kissed messy hair without looking OTT.

She teamed her dress up with Jimmy Choo heels and De Grisogono jewellery.

And she makes a statement while sifting through her closet

We do that every single morning, but do we look this chic? Nada! We like to do that in our pyjamas not a yellow snug dress with ginormous bell sleeves!

Red Carpet of Day Two was so-so

It seemed like Saltzman lost her touch after an exciting first day. She looked gorgeous nonetheless, but this isn’t the look we’d drool over for the rest of our lives. Her Brandon Maxwell bottle green gown with an alarmingly high slit complemented her skin tone but that’s about it.

Her makeup, on the other hand, made us stop and ogle at her. Not many people have the heart to do what Deepika’s makeup artists did.

Impressive or not, Deepika was there to have fun! Before heading to the film festival, the Bolly star told IANS, “What is the red carpet without having fun? I know there is a lot of focus on the clothes, the hair and the make-up, but from all of that, I think the most important thing is that everyone who walks that red carpet must have fun with all of that and that experience.”
