Ever wondered what your fellow females are shelling their bucks on? It’s alright, we aren’t about to go all Anjali on you and call you a “cheetaaa” (cheater). Every human is inquisitive and our purchase decisions often depend on what our bestie bought recently. If an online shopping page is selling cartons and cartons of Farsali Gold Elixir (for the past few months), then it must be doing wonders for ladies.
Or else why would they re-purchase it?
We got in touch with Nusrat Godil of Heavenly Closet – an online personal shopper of sorts – and asked her to list the bestselling makeup products this season. Which makeup product has gained the trust of Pakistani ladies?
Let’s find out!
Mac Studio Fix
It was a mass favourite when I was in middle school and is still reigning supreme. Laura Mercier might produce a kick ass translucent powder, but no one does compact powder better than Mac. Their Studio Fix compact is an all-in-one base. You can pair it with a foundation (or BB cream) or use it on its own with a wet sponge.
Huda Beauty Liquid Matte
This liquid lipstick is selling like hot cakes. Surprisingly, Pakistani ladies prefer Huda beauty lip color over the globally bestselling Kylie lip kits. Is that because the shades are formulated keeping the Asian skin tone in mind? Or because the price difference is huge? We think it is the latter.
Bestselling shades: Wild Child, Video star, Bombshell, and Mamacita.
Mac Matte lipsticks
Yes, another Mac product. Matte lipsticks are like that khala we take for granted; You won’t usually find us wooing over our trusted Ruby Woo, but it is forever there to support us on truly shitty days.
Bestselling shades: Please Me, Silly, Mehr, Ruby Woo, Flat Out Fabulous, Lady Danger, Breaking fire, and Snob.
Nars Velvet Matte Foundation Stick
This one came as a surprise. Don’t we love our liquid foundations and Kryolan TV Paint sticks? Apparently not. This velvet matter foundation stick comes with a built-in sponge at the back of the stick, which makes the application a dream.
Reportedly, it is a blessing for “women of color” because of its wide range of shades and non-cakey finish!
Farsali Rose Gold Elixir
This one was a personal recommendation by Nusrat Godil, one of the owners of Heavenly Closet, when we first interviewed her. It looks like the ladies paid heed. The lightweight moisturizer with anti-ageing benefits is a hit with desi ladies!
