It’s In The Bag

International Fashion Weeks are about to change your hand bags forever

By Maha Asif Rizwan

With every international fashion weeks  the world gets ready to embrace vibrant, new trends. This season arm candy comes in all sizes: from large and slouchy to micro mini.  New ‘It’ bags are about to change the way you carry your essentials around

Digital Bags

As the world moves towards a digital revolution handbags are being dragged into the mix. This year Karl Lagerfeld employed his progressive vision for Chanel’s Spring 2017 collection with robots adorned in Chanel tweed suits opening the show and the Chanel bag gracing the ramp with a fancy light-up exterior.

Micro-Mini Bags

If you were happy with your mini bag purchase this year, get ready to go smaller next year. Runways featured micro-mini bags by Fendi, Chloe, Louis Vuitton and many more; tailored to carry just your basic essentials these bags took a variety of silhouettes from handheld to shoulder straps.  While these may not be a practical everyday choice, they sure make a minimalist statement.

Slouchy Bags

From slacks, to totes and hobos – big slouchy bags are the contrasting new trend to your minis. The chic carrier of all your necessities brands like Celine, Balenciaga, Lanvin gave us the gift of bags that are large, simple and laid back. The trend is versatile to suit leather, nubuck or fabric depending on your taste.

Fringed Bags

Like so many 2016 trends, we haven’t seen the last of fringed bags. That said, they’re evolving in the silhouette they create. Not just a rock festival style anymore, brands like Kenzo, Roberto Cavalli, and many others opted for fringed accessories on the runway, evolving them into cleaner and polished forms.
