These flashy little things have the power to uplift your wardrobe one mirror at a time. But they can make your clothes look too traditional bordering towards tacky and you wouldn’t want that. It is imperative that you strike the right balance and even if you go OTT with mirror work, it should be done tastefully. Nida Azwer, in her latest collection, shows us how to get it just right.
The minimalistic Khalarai collection is predominantly white and is embellished with mirrors. And we’re wondering why didn’t we notice this one ever before? According to the brand’s Facebook page, they have given a modern twist to a traditional craft. And indeed they have.
Have a look at this modern silhouette and fall in love with the embellishment.
We never thought we’d be falling head over heels in love with a top so heavily embellished with sheesha work, but let’s just say we are now Shelievers (people who love sheesha work).
And if you think you cannot over indulge then the design house has minimalistic designs in this collection too. Case in point are these simplistic ghararas paired with off-shoulder flow-ey tops.
It’s not just us, even celebrities are going ga-ga over the Khalarai collection. Syra Shahroz is spotted here looking super adorable in a straight cut shirt and skinny jhodpurs on Dawn TV’s morning show.
Guess who’s the winner? This mirror work sari that made it to the ramp and back safely without anyone trying to grab it off. We’re not sure if we had been able to keep our hands to ourselves if we were a few feet away from this piece of art.
If you are on a lookout for a saari, then your search ends here!
The sheesha embroidery is a craft our designers had given up on, but now that Azwer has revamped it and made it look this edgy, we have a feeling that we’re going to see a lot more of it in the upcoming fashion shows.
