When you live in Pakistan, your home is your oasis. Between the lack of security and the rising heat, leaving your home is increasingly becoming optional, so why not work at making it as idyllic as possible. Women’s Own heard about a new home interior company sourcing eclectic pieces from around the world and we couldn’t contain our excitement! We tracked down the creative owners behind Revel Home, the gorgeous Kahif Chinoy and Shani Khan, to have quick chat about their brand and all it offers:
What is the inspiration behind your brand?
Revel evolved as a result of a conversation we had about our travels and the fun home décor and lighting we saw there. It sparked an idea to make these products available in Pakistan. We have had one fantastic exhibition and only hope to grow our product ranges in the future.
What are your design inspirations and home décor philosophies?
Our décor philosophy revolves around quality pieces that incorporate current trends but are stylish enough to be timeless. We only choose pieces that we would be proud to display in our own homes.
Your exhibition had beautiful eclectic pieces, should we expect this at your next exhibition?
Yes! Definitely eclectic and much more! Our aim at Revel is to constantly reinvent our products so people always have something fresh to look forward to. That said, all our previously displayed products are available on order. We are currently working on a range of small furniture pieces which will include small tables, mirrors etc., for our next exhibition which we are really excited about!
Speaking of your exhibition, if you could have kept ONE piece for yourself, which one would it be?
Kahif: I’ve already kept my favourite piece in my home – our raw wood and metal light sculpture.
Shani: It’s very hard for me to choose just one! We did a series of one-of-a-kind ceramic Ikat vases which were very hard to part with.
What would be your design tips for the Average Ayesha about her home décor?
There are numerous ways for a quick facelift for your interior. One of the easiest is to rearrange existing pieces or reupholster. Sometime accessorising can make all the difference! Just one statement piece can really uplift a room. Accessories are key! Don’t be afraid to mix textures and materials, things don’t necessarily have to match to create a cohesive look. Go ahead and experiment!
