While the teaser of “Mom,” piqued our interest, the trailer has escalated it to another level. Mom, starring Sri Devi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Akshay Khanna, is Sajal Ali’s big Bollywood debut. The film focuses on the mother daughter relationship between Sri Devi and Sajal. At least that’s what we heard during the promotional interviews of the cast, but let’s keep our minds open. Why do we say this? Because the second trailer of Mom shows Sajal looking all innocent and asking, “Aur aap ne unhen bataya nahi ke mein aap ki beti nahi hoon Mam?”
Meanwhile, Sri Devi, and even the viewers, look at her in shock. Is Sajal’s character, Arya, so upset with her mother that she doesn’t wish to acknowledge the relationship anymore? It seems so.
In a recent interview, Akshay revealed that the film revolves around a serious crime and he plays the role of an investigation officer who’s after Sri Devi’s case! On the other hand, Nawazuddin plays the role of DK – an astrologer who’s helping Sri Devi cope with whatever hardships that she and her daughter are going through and forcing her into something very ghalat.
Mom promises to be a goose bump inducing thriller and tomorrow we’ll finally find out what forces the happy family – of Adnan Siddiqui, Sri Devi and Sajal – into the depths of misery.
