The Cool Girl’s Guide to Eid Shopping

Pastel organza? Thanks but no thanks

By Maha Asif Rizwan

Lace: check, Frills: check, Embellishments: check, Embroidery: check, Chiffon: check. Endless shopping trips and a hundred Eid exhibitions later, we are still looking for something that does NOT fall in to the implicit category of traditional ‘beautiful Eid outfit’. So what do you wear if you want to try something distinctive and stand out of the crowd?

We’ve got a couple of ideas to help you express your own style over the holidays.

Bold in boho

Think traditional crop tops and funky shalwars. If you’re going to try something different this Eid, we suggest you go with one of the many diverse boho chic looks Generation has in stock.

Sporty in Lawn

Let’s admit it, we’re all tired of lawn looking like… lawn. That’s why Shehla Chatoor’s sporty twist to a lawn outfit caught our attention and we are all in. Some sneakers, a pair of ripped jeans, and your favorite lawn kurta is giving us some serious kicks for Eid.

Smart in suits

Can’t find a smart look for your Eid fiestas? Give your three piece suit a much needed upgrade. This ensemble by Ivy Prints is vibrant, modern and uniquely chic. The best part: it goes well for all your Eid festivities.

Cool in casual

If Eid is more of a holiday in bed for you, we suggest you laze in style. Peplum inspired printed kameez and comfy shalwars are the casually cool combination and we have our eyes on Coco by Zara Shahjahan’s latest collection.

Sassy for summer

Eid doesn’t have to be all about lace and sequins. Let the breezy summer vibes stay a little bit longer and inspire you to put together a look that’s sassy yet serene, much like these ensembles by Icon Clothing.
