As designers continue to westernise the shalwar and kameez this summer, Generation has decided to dig deeper towards our roots to create powerful connections between our identity and daily dressing. In their latest collection Shikargah that hits stores today, the label has taken inspiration from the majestic and mysterious Anarkali to create modified versions of Mughal era ensembles.
The collection includes prints inspired from miniature art that have been transformed into easy tunics and peplums as well as boxy kameezes and Anarkali silhouettes that are a little more dressy. The line is simplistic, keeping intact neutral hues and carefully crafted cotton thread embroidery. We love that Generation team chose net as the staple fabric. It’ll definitely keep you cool whilst making you look straight out of a high fashion magazine!
