The Most Embarrassing Songs Celebrities Are Addicted to

Loud and proud!

By Muna Moini

We’ve all grown up, dancing to Wannabe by Spice girls, making sure the “ah” in “Zigazig-ah” is delivered with a lot of sass every single time! But is it something we’re proud of? Hell no! These songs may have uplifted us from the gloomiest of moods, but we give them a cold shoulder in front of the world because even if ‘Baby ko bass pasand hai’, talking about it will only result in Munni’s Badnaami!

*Rolls eyes so hard that they refuse to come back in focus*

Today, we’re talking about our guilty pleasure songs that range from the cheapest item numbers to the cheesiest love songs – the ones we’re embarrassed to love but love nonetheless! They’re a part of us, so why not embrace them unashamedly?

Our celebrities do exactly that. They open up about that one song they’re embarrassed to love so you can embrace yours shamelessly too.

Frieha Altaf

“‘Aaj Blue Hai Pani Pani’ is the Indian item song I’m always humming but I find these songs absolutely distasteful,” Frieha – the PR guru – shares with a laugh.

And guess what? We ended up listening to this song on repeat ourselves! Can we blame her for liking this one? It is SO addictive!

Just listen to this bridge:

“Sunset Ka Time Ho

Thandi-Thandi Ret Ho

Let’s Go To Party Yaara

Mujhse Na Ab Wait Ho..”

So relatable!

Osman Khalid Butt

“I’m not embarrassed, I proudly talk about songs that catch my fancy. I get shit for it from friends, but that doesn’t make a difference. Like, say, Toxic by Britney Spears. The more my friends roll their eyes, the more I play it.”

His favorite?

“I’m addicted to you
Don’t you know that you’re toxic?”

If OKB can embrace his love for Britney and be proud of his playlist, so can you!

Ayesha Omar

“Baby I don’t need dollar bills to have fun tonight,” hums Ayesha Omar when we ask her about her favourite song. “I love cheap thrills!”

Don’t we all?

It’s got a good beat and you can totally dance to it! In fact, let’s listen to it right now.

Mohsin Abbas Haider

If a married man can admit he enjoys Hassan Jehangir’s ‘Shaadi na Karna Yaro‘, without fearing his wife’s wrath, then there’s nothing that should stop you from embracing your guilty pleasure!

“Oh, I also love ‘Sochenge Tumhe Pyaar Kare Ke Nahi’ by Kumar Sanu that most youngsters might not like,” adds Mohsin.

Armeena Rana Khan

“I’m very possessive about my playlist. It’s a very strange habit that I have,” says Armeena.

But since she’s a sweetheart, she decided to share her guilty pleasure song with us.

“Love Me Like You Do by Ellie Goulding is the song that I play whenever I’m down in the dumps. LMAO. It has the power to pick me up!”

Sadly, she doesn’t care about Sheila or her jawani. “They [desi item songs] are not my type,” she says determinedly.

Ahmad Ali Butt

“It has to be ‘Neray Aah’ by Overload,” said Ahmed. “What a great remix by a great band!”

Here is how the chorus goes:

“Neṛe aa aa aa, zaalama weee,

Main ṭhar gayi aan aan aan!”

This song is soo catchy we’ll have to give it to Ahmed for his impeccable taste in songs. No need to feel guilty about this one at all, Ahmed! It is actually super cool!

Maria Memon

Well, her guilty pleasure is rather a very innocent one and WAY different from the rest.

“I love ‘lakdi ki Kathi’ and I’ve made sure my nieces were addicted to it too. They get hypnotized every time I sing it to them and start singing along with me,” the proud aunt reveals.

That’s more of a masoom pleasure than a guilty one, we must say.

Ladies, play them sleazy songs loud and proud because there’s no reason not to.
