The Return of the Scarlet Bride

Are you seeing red yet?

If lilacs and mint greens were never your colors, go ahead and get yourself a striking, red outfit for your wedding because red is officially back for the 2016-2017 bridal season. After Aurora Red was selected as one of the picks in the Pantone Fashion Colour Report 2016 it seems our fashion industry has collectively followed suit.

Bolder, darker and hotter the red bride returned at PLBW 2016 where designers embraced the traditional color. Burgundy, coral and even the ever popular blush pink were overshadowed by the royal rouge. We saw red lehngas paired with cream coats, peplum and crop tops. The collection by Muse was entirely based red and pearl details, with complimentary off-white and navy blue.

The trend has been seen off the runway with designers who did not participate in bridal week, like Elan and Misha Lakhani featuring pure red in their bridal collections.

It seems the once out of grace, red jora has returned. Add some polki jewelry, motia and a smiling bride and that’s¬†vintage fashion done right!
