We just had a look at one of Pakistan’s leading designers, Sania Maskatiya’s Eid collection and it is safe to say that the gharara isn’t going anywhere. But thankfully, it is not the only trend out there this Eid. Maskatiya’s collection includes asymmetric hemlines, boxy tunics, and printed tapered pants. The 21 designs come in various pastel shades barring a maroon here and a black there.
The Eid Collection titled Âme-soul is inspired by diversity of life and includes bespoke fabrics such as silk, linen, brocade, and chiffon. The design house is known for its digital prints and we see an influence of that in the current collection as well, especially in the lowers. Apart from prints, the designer has also used hand and machine embroidery.
Our favorite amongst the lot was this gold translucent top. We can totally imagine ourselves shimmying down the stairs in this outfit.
The ice blue one has a done to death silhouette, but the embellishment and the overall impact is quite refreshing.
This tunic is a fun twist to a simple straight-cut kurti.
A basic maroon shalwar kameez never goes wrong.
The campaign is shot by Shahbaz Shazi and features Sadaf Kanwal while the makeup is done by Shazia Rashid and jewellery is from Cannary Cove.
Âme-soul is available at a price range of PKR 12,500 to PKR 89,500 at all Sania Maskatiya outlets in Karachi and Lahore and online at their official e-store.
