Stress Aging Makes You Lose Your Young Skin

Have you noticed how many look older than their actual age? Not talking about the features or the way they carry themselves but pointing out the wrinkles, puffy eyes, fine lines and a face that looks it hasn’t had a peaceful day in a very long time. That is called, stressed aging. Aging before time due to the constant worry doesn’t matter even if you take care of your skin, drink plenty of water or use the best of products those might help but still won’t be able to make your skin look young! Not only skin it even messes up with your body.

As dermatologist Whitney Bowe, MD, author of The Beauty of Dirty Skin, explains, “Stress slows down digestion, which creates a shift in bacteria that can compromise the integrity of your gut lining. This can cause inflammation throughout the body and lead to acne flare-ups as well as premature aging.” Furthermore, the stress hormone cortisol is no friend to the skin. “It’s infamous for breaking down collagen,” Bowe says.

How to get rid of that stress? Exercise and when we say exercise we mean any physical movement not just the gym but also your sexual life. Wechsler says “Both increase levels of beta-endorphins, which fight the effects of cortisol.”

Also, DON’T overthink!

At times it’s not you but the surrounding you’re in, “Pollutants cause the formation of free radicals, which damage DNA, resulting in skin aging,” Miami-based dermatologist Loretta Ciraldo, MD explains in simple words. “Irritants like dust mites and airborne allergens activate enzymes that break down collagen to worsen wrinkles.”

Whatever is bringing you down just think, “will it matter in the next 5 years?” If no, then you know not important and if the answer is yes, then do something about it why fret over it instead of doing something about it?

Don’t ruin your skin only to regret it later on.
