One of Mumbai’s tallest residential complex, Prabhadevi’s Beaumonde Towers caught a massive fire on Wednesday afternoon. Luckily, all the residents including Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone remained unharmed.
After two back to back fire incidents in Mumbai, this is a third tragic incident to take place this month. Officials report that the fire initiated from the top penthouse floors at around 2 pm but spread to the lower regions in a matter for a few hours, emitting thick black clouds of smoke that could be seen from miles away.
Around 90 residents were soon evacuated from the building by rescue teams including the personal staff of Deepika Padukone. The actress who resides on one floor and has an office on another was not present on site and remained safe. Deepika was reportedly out for an ad shoot when the building caught ablaze. She confirmed her wellbeing to her fans through a tweet.
