Dubai based beauty guru Huda Khattan has come a long way from being a social media influencer to getting listed as America’s 37th most Richest Self-Made Women in the prestigious Forbes magazine.
The influencer turned businesswoman stepped into the cosmetic industry in 2013 with her own line called “Huda Beauty.” The brand’s first product was a range of mink lashes that quickly gained popularity and become a favorite of makeup lovers across the globe. Huda then went onto launch her liquid lipsticks, highlighters and eyeshadow palettes, all of which became some of the best selling products at Sephora.
Recently Huda Beauty ventured into complexion products and launched her own “Faux filter foundation” and “Easy Bake loose setting powder.” While the foundation garnered some amazing reviews, the setting powder was criticised for plagiarizing a smaller brand’s marketing strategy. The beauty community was outraged when they noticed a striking similarity between the marketing of Huda Beauty’s loose powder and Beauty Bakery’s setting powder and slammed Huda for copying the concept. While this backlash would have been a big blow to any brand, it definitely hasn’t stopped the lady boss.
Huda has just announced that she is branching out and launching her very own fragrance! The news about this new product was revealed on an episode of the beauty guru’s very own Facebook watch reality series called “Huda Boss.” (Yes, she has her own reality show too. Kim Kardashian much?) Sister/ business partner Mona Kattan did the big reveal and said, “I love perfume. I love it so much that I have dedicated an entire room in my house to perfume.” The launch was then also announced on her Instagram.

According to the little information disclosed on Huda Boss, the perfume will likely be manufactured in Grasse, France which is reputed as the perfume capital of the world. Megabrands such as Chanel and Dior are known to formulate their fragrances in Grasse as well. While it’s not yet known what the new perfume will smell like, the discussion on the show hints it will be rose scented.
Previously, the only influencer to introduce her own fragrance was Kim Kardashian who made over 10 million dollars with in only a few hours of its launch.
