A few days ago one of the biggest nights of the year was witnessed by everyone- the 70th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, which celebrated the best and brightest of TV. The celebrities put their best foot forward and brought their A-game. While there were plenty of moments which made headlines and including an on-stage proposal, it was also a brilliant night of fashion. Here, we list down our favourite looks of the night, from Thandie Newton and Vanessa Kirby to Poppy Delevingne and Jessica Biel.
Everyone’s favorite Westworld star,Thandie Newton – who also won the ‘Outstanding Supporting Actress’ accolade – looked stunning in a hot-pink, one-shouldered gown by the famous designer who is also a red-carpet favourite, Brandon Maxwell. The exaggerated sleeve which drops like a trail provided all the drama, so she kept the rest of her look toned down with sparkling yet minimal accessories.
Angela Sarafyan who is another favorite of ours from Westworld also excelled in the fashion game at the award show. Angela wore a beautiful black princess gown. The strapless dress with an exaggerated skirt and night-sky detail was designed by Christian Siriano. Newton’s co-star teamed her gown with stud earrings and a neat updo.
Opting to shun volume on the night was The Crown’s Vanessa Kirby, who arrived on the red carpet wearing an incredibly chic blush column gown by Tom Ford. She teamed the polished, structured dress with delicate jewellery, a matching nude clutch bag and slicked back hair.
The Sinner’s Jessica Biel embraced the high-profile event wearing a strapless, full-skirted ball gown designed by the renowned British designer Ralph & Russo. Biel team her gown with flowing locks and simple pink lip, the actress provided all brides-to-be with plenty of inspiration.
Michelle Dockery had fun in her layered tulle gown as she swished around for the cameras. The pretty blue, strapless dress which also featured embroidered flower detail was designed by Carolina Herrera.
Poppy Delevingne was on trend in a turquoise ruffle gown by Giambattista Valli. She continued the girly feel of the look by adding bows into her hair and opting for statement sparkly earrings.
Tracee Ellis Ross
The best dressed round-up could not be complete without a mention for Tracee Ellis Ross, who turned heads on the red carpet in Valentino couture. The extremely voluminous, off-the-shoulder pink gown was made for a night like this. Everything was on point!
