Naomi Watts Will Be Casted in the Prequel of ‘Game of Thrones’
As we anxiously await for the final season of Game of Thrones which is said to be released next year, director and writer George RR Martin have decided to make a prequel of the show called ‘The Long Night’.
While Games of Thrones series based on the novel “A Song of Ice and Fire” has still not finished yet and has already started casting for the prequel in which George will be featuring the Oscar-winning actress, Naomi Watts.
The 70-year-old director was very excited about casting Naomi who previously finished films such as the movie Roger Ailes and other movies. George tweeted that “Casting for ‘The Long Night’ is now underway; the first of the Game of Thrones successor series to ordered to film. I could not be more excited, welcome to Westeros Naomi.”
Screenwriter, Jane Goldman who is behind the prequel is working with George R R Martin. “The Long Night” will be set thousands of years before ‘The Game of Thrones’.
This prequel will show how the world went from the golden age of heroes to its darkest hour we will see how the White Walkers for the first appeared in the world, when the First Men fought the White Walker and when Bran the Builder built the Wall to keep them out of Westeros.
According to George, Goldman has already started scripting the pilot of ‘The Long Night’ and will be running the show and has also started casting.
In the prequel Naomi will probably be playing one of the first Lannister noblewoman, Naomi’s character in the prequel has been described as a charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret.
The excitement has already been built up for both the final season of the original show which will be released next year and its prequel in the year following that.
